The Studio “Son Turó” of the Spanish artist Gustavo, in between almond and fig trees is situated in the northeast of the island of Mallorca between Capdepera and Cala Ratjada, is definitely one of the most beautiful studios on the island. Build 1995 in the “Bauhaus” style of architect José Garcia Ruiz and with help of Gustavo himself, it attracts art lovers from all over the world, especially from Germany. A studio that resembles a museum filled with colours on 250 m?.
It is more than a workplace, indeed it shows Gustavo's attitude towards live: endlessly creative, he prefers to work on multiple paintings simultaneously, makes simple drawings and enjoys figures and colours. While working he listens to Jacques Brel, Udo Lindenberg, Maria Callas, Wolfgang Neuss or Mozart, drinks his coffee (with a lot of milk), lets his thoughts drift and constantly develops new ideas. From the top of his hill he watches the sea and, if the weather is good, he can see the island of Menorca. The idyll of his land house, the green fields, the silhouettes of the palm trees, mountains in the background, Mediterranean sun and a blue sky amongst the twittering of birds – all this beauty finds its place inside his paintings. Strange and grotesque shapes, some of them springing from his own paint droplets, yet all fantastic, happy and unique just like the place where they are created which spreads its own magic and awakens curiosity. It's a hospitable ambience – no surprise that collectors and fans always find something new and that Gustavo's guests, who are also those of his enchanting wife Regine, are so delighted that they don't want to leave!
